Bière de Route : Beer Review

Bière de Route Beer Review

Bière de Route is a Mild from La Souche microbrasserie brewed with Oolong tea. At only 3.5%, it’s not a bad option if you need to hit the road later! 🚙 🫖 🍺

Bringing the tea into this classic British style makes for something really unique. Up top, you get plenty of tea aromas with earthy and herbal accents but with some fruity peach undertones and a little bit of butterscotch sweetness from the malts sitting underneath.

On the palate the smooth, malty caramel of the mild is very present but the tea infusion definitely lends a distinct character. It both accentuates the fruity esters of the mild while adding distinct black tea notes and a dry, astringent mouthfeel that cuts through the sugar and marries with the earthy, English-style bitterness. Super unique and really refreshing, this is a great little brew! 👌🏻 🍑 ☕️
